The market took another one on the chin today and it triggered a buy on two of my limit orders. Today I bought 100 shares of Principal Financial Group (PFG) at $34 and a dividend yield of 4.47% quickly followed up with a buy of 200 shares of AVX Corp (AVX) at $11 and a dividend yield of 3.82%.
These two buy brings my IRA portfolio to a 5.25% overall dividend yield. I still have two limit orders remaining for PPL Corp (PPL) and SPANAMERICA Medical (SPAN) but current prices are still a decent amount over my buy prices of $34 & $17.70. Once these two execute I'll still have a little bit of dry powder but not much.

Close previewNice pickup of PFG. I bought this stock a few weeks ago. I should have sold a Put instead. My entry price is a few dollars higher than yours.
Thanks IH. It is definitely a patience game, these odd market gyrations are doing weird things. Not everything is moving in the same direction, with a all the dips in January PFG didn't drop below $35 and then in Feb it dropped and then popped again.
Even though PFG has a short div growth history it is what attracted me. I prefer to find stocks that have potential to go on a 10+ year or more dividend growth streak.
